NATURE vs. nurture
Do people behave as they do according to genetic predispositions or even “animal instincts” or do people think and behave in certain ways because they are taught to do so?
NAture:
Definition: the transmission of genetic characteristics from parents to children determines personality
Example: Anna and Isabelle cases of Isolation in Children

Nurture:
Definition: contact with other people determines personality
Example: Pavlov's experiment with training dogs and humans
-Children depend on being raised up well in order to be able to learn to speak, eat, walk, and other things necessary for living.
-Without being taught these things, mental disabilities can and will more than likely occur, and the later that they learn them, the more impossible it becomes.
-Learning right and wrong things begins at the moment of birth; without nurturing, the feeling of empathy is lost and is difficult to gain.
-Personality is only heritable to a certain extent.
I chose Nurture solely because of the information I have found and the video that we watched. It is obvious that the being raised properly is essential to living. Of course, some personality characteristics are inherited, but the majority are learned from observing other people.
